dental bonding in woodstock, ga
Do you cover up your smile because of chips, cracks or other dental flaws? Dental bonding is a wonderful option if you are aiming to obtain a beautifully rejuvenated and seamless smile that you can be pleased to show off. This versatile treatment consists of bonding tooth-colored resin substance to the teeth for a smile that is both healthy and natural-looking.
Our expert dentists can execute dental bonding as a standalone procedure or combine it with other dental treatments to help you obtain your dream smile.
What Can Dental Bonding Address?
Dental bonding can be used to:
- Repair decayed teeth
- Disguise small chips or cracks in teeth
- Disguise stains or discoloration
- Improve misshapen or unevenly shaped teeth
- Fill in openings between teeth
Candidacy for dental bonding is determined on a case-by-case basis. During your consultation, your dentist will take a look at your teeth and talk about your dental concerns and goals with you. Based on the data they gather, they may suggest merging dental bonding with one or more dental procedures. Feel confident that our company will design a customized treatment plan with your special dental needs in mind.
Procedure Details
Dental bonding is a fairly quick and straightforward procedure that can frequently be completed in one visit in our office. Prior to treatment, our dentists will use an unique shade guide to select the resin color that best matches the color of your natural teeth. A mild phosphoric acid solution will be applied to the tooth or teeth that will acquire the bonding. This solution is used to make tiny channels on the tooth enamel so the bonding material can cohere more strongly to the tooth. After this is finished, our dentists will put on the putty-like resin to the tooth and meticulously mold it until the desired shape and size are attained. Laser light will then be focused onto the tooth so the resin material can harden and bond with the tooth. When the resin material has solidified, the dentists will make the last touches and polish the material for a natural-looking and seamless smile.
The results of dental bonding are able to last for many years, as long as you take decent care. We recommend you stay away from or limit eating hard or sticky foods that can essentially crack the resin material. For this purpose, patients should also stop grinding or clenching their teeth. Just like regular teeth, bonded teeth have to be brushed twice a day and flossed on a daily basis. Routine dental checkups are key so our dentists can routinely monitor the function and health of your teeth.
